Risk factors

  • The cause of brain cancer is still largely unknown. Although some genetic conditions and environmental factors may contribute to the development of brain cancer. But still there are some risk factors, those are
  • Age-The frequency of Brain cancer increased with age. As age increase above 60 or 65 years, it increases the chance to develop
  • Gender-Certain cancer has more frequency in Female than male, like Medulloblastoma.
  • Compromised Immune system
  • Chemical Exposure
  • Radiation treatment
  • Genetic heritage.

Common Tumors

·         Astrocytoma-This is the most common type of Brain Tumors. It originated from anywhere of the Brain and spinal cord and it developed from small star shaped cell, called astrocytes.

·      Glioblastoma-It’s a fast-growing aggressive Tumors that formed from the supportive tissue of brain.

·         Meningioma-It develops from the membranes of the spinal cord and brain. It typically removed by surgery.

Diagnosis

Advance Genomic Test: It helps to analysis genomic profile of Brain Tumors.

Biopsy: Take out small piece of Cancerous Tissue and evaluation of Tumors and help to plan out for treatment processes.

Nuclear Medicine Bone scan: reveal the location of the cancer, as well as whether the brain cancer has spread to the bone

Surgery

Surgery is preferred for the first line of treatment for brain cancer. Procedures may include minimally invasive surgical techniques to safely remove of tumors.

Chemotherapy

This treatment is frequently used to treat high-grade brain cancer, either alone or in combination with other brain cancer treatments, such as surgery and radiation therapy.

Neurosurgery

This specialized type of surgery performed on the nervous system, particularly the brain and spinal cord, typically focuses on removing the entire brain tumor and other surrounding structures.
