Major General Naquib Ahmed Chowdhury was born in Dhaka and did is schooling from a renowned School and Cantonment College in Dhaka where he was groomed to join the Bangladesh Army. He is an alumnus of the Bangladesh Military Academy and was commissioned into the Infantry Regiment. He excelled in discharging his duties in Infantry Regiment.In a span of 37 years with Bangladesh Army, he has held a variety of important command and staff appointments.

Beside his regimental appointments in three Infantry Battalions, he commanded an Infantry Unit. He served in Military Police Unit, Staff/Protection officer of Special Security Force, Operation Officer of a UN contingent. He also served as Director, Special Security Force. He commanded two Infantry Brigades. As Major General, he commanded two Infantry Divisions.Major General Naquib attended a number of courses both in home and abroad. He has obtained Masters on Defence Studies from National University of Bangladesh and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a renowned university in Dhaka. He is a graduate of Defense Services Command and Staff College and also, alumni of National Defence College, Bangladesh.

He completed his Mphil from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).His inspiring performance in many daunting operations and peacetime activities, have been recognized and was decorated with a number of gallantry awards and service medals.Major General Naquib has served under the umbrella of United Nation in Somalia, Sierra Leon, Liberia and Congo. He was the Force Provost Marshal in MONUSCO (Congo). During his august and culourful military career, he widely traveled to a number of countries across the globe.
