Overview
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in women, worldwide. Bangladesh has one of the highest incidences of breast cancer in Asia. In the case of Bangladeshi women, aged between 15-44 years, breast cancer has the highest prevalence of 19.3 per 100000 compared to any other type of cancer. The best way to fight this cancer is to detect it early and start appropriate treatment. Women below the age of 40 should carry out regular self-examination and those over 40 should undergo regular screening mammography. Symptoms
- A small or large lump in the breast
- Change the size shape and appearance of the breast
- Swollen lump node in the neck and underarms
- Inverted nipple, orange-like dimpling
- Nipple retraction or pain

- Full clinical examination
- Bilateral mammography, combined with an ultrasound examination of the breast lesion and axilla
- Core biopsy of suspicious breast lesions
- Ultrasono-guided FNAC of enlarged or abnormal lymph nodes

- Wide excision alone
